Job Description and Duties:

General Accounting Duties:

Calculate, verify, and post financial data to maintain accounting and statistical records
Prepare daily journal entries necessary to complete financial statements and other reports
Assist with cash flow forecast maintenance
Bank and credit card statement reconciliation
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and maintain working papers
Reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring elimination across entities
Assist with preparation of annual audit information and supporting documents
Handle special projects, responsibilities and other duties as assigned by Financial Controller
Perform other duties as required

Financial Reporting Duties:

Prepare consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures for corporate entities
Prepare and analyze working papers for corporate entities, ensuring that financial information provided is timely and relevant for effective decision making
Complete monthly and quarterly variance analysis to budget and prior periods
Prepare working papers and backup for external audit process
Responsible for commodity tax filing preparations, submissions, and reconciliations (GST/HST/PST)
Assist with CRA audits
Ensure that appropriate and adequate internal controls over financial reporting are in place and operating efficiently and effectively
